summertime style: farmer’s market.

One of my favorite things to do in the summertime is go to the farmer’s market on the weekends.  There are lots of little farmer’s markets around the Seattle area, and then of course, Pike Place is always open. I thought it would be fun to put together a few fun farmer’s market inspired looks for you since it’s Wednesday and we’re all dreaming of the weekend…

For the first look I went with a pair of boyfriend shorts and a peasant top.  I bought these last week and they are the best shorts ever–even if you are short with short legs like me, they’re flattering.  (They’re also super comfy.)  And I am all about the peasant tops this year.  I love all the off the shoulder looks, but since I don’t wear those these pretty peasant tops are a great alternative.  I bought a blue and white one earlier this season from Madewell, and I am obsessed with this red one and those strappy red sandals to go with.

I first spotted this market tote on Instagram last year and then couldn’t find it anywhere (or remember which account it was that I saw it on…), so I was thrilled when I stumbled upon it the other day.  Isn’t it dreamy?  It’s the perfect thing to carry around on a Saturday, take to the market and fill with flowers.  And I love that it has a few different options for cities (especially Seattle). #seattleforever

For the second look, I went with a relaxed striped dress.  A dress is the perfect thing to wear in the summertime at the farmer’s market.  You know I can never say no to stripes and I love the fit on this dress.  It’s perfect for pairing with a great pair of cognac sandals (these are on sale for $49) and a pretty boater hat.

Happy Wednesday everyone!  We’re halfway to the weekend!

See how I eat my way through Pike Place Market here.

I love both of those looks. They are fun and summery, keeping it casual while still looking nice. They would both be good for 4th of July activities, too.
