Happy 1st day of September everyone!  I know it’s not technically fall yet, but as soon as we leave August it kind of feels like it is to me.  My kids go back to school next Tuesday, and that’s always a sign for me that fall is fast around the corner.  I think I actually said the words “pumpkin candle” yesterday.

Is that a bit premature?

Once I get in fall mode (and it does’t take much to get me there, a few leaves dropping will do the trick) I start thinking, planning, and shopping in fall mode.  I’ve had soup on my menu at least 6 times in the last 2 weeks, I’m already putting our apple picking trip on the calendar, and I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect black booties and buying sweaters and gorgeous bordeaux tops.

Bordeaux is one of my favorite colors to wear, (maybe my favorite) and I love it when I find really gorgeous unique pieces in the shade, like this dreamy top or these amazing shoes.

Even though I’m a mom of 4, I actually still really like to wear heels during the day/week.  Shoes are one of my weaknesses (you should see my closet) and I love it when I find a pair that make me feel great, give me a little extra height, and also still work really well for all the mom things.  This gorgeous wine colored pair are perfect because the heel is a comfortable height, and the straps keep them from slipping off my feet, even if I’m pushing a stroller or walking a lot.

Block heels are so in this season and I love the suede/patent combo and deep bordeaux color on these shoes.  They were designed by Christian Siriano for Payless, and (double bonus) they are under $35.  Did you know he has a whole line for the brand?  I just discovered it a couple weeks ago and I am in love with the pieces, especially this backpack, these buckle flats, and this pair of gold tassel slip-ons.
