I think we can all agree that there are quite a few antiquated fashion rules that have gone out the window in the last couple years.  One of them being no white after labor day.  Thank goodness that rule died, #amiright?  White pants are chic year-round, and I especially love pulling out my wide-leg pair for a change of pace.  (Although, I’ll never quit my white skinnies.)

One of the tricky parts about wearing white after labor day, is knowing what to pair it with.  You want to own the color, without looking like you’re dressing for early summer instead of early fall.  Here are a few ideas for wearing white after labor day:

1.  Pair it with other whites.  Monochromatic is always a good idea, and pairing your whites with more whites (try different shades even) can make for a chic look.  Think a pair of skinny white jeans with an off white blouse blouse and paired with a cream colored leather jacket, a pair of tan peep toes and a leopard clutch.  So chic, definitely feels like fall.

2. Pair it with fall colors.  The other day I stepped out in my white skinnies and I paired them with an olive tee, this neutral waterfall cardigan, my Tory Burch buckle bag, and these peep toe booties.(which have been restocked!)  The white jeans really freshened up the whole look and offered a surprising twist beyond the typical skinny jeans. You can also pair whites with other fall colors (especially accessories) for a super chic look.  This season, I’m all about olive greens, bordeaux, cognac and black.

3. Pair it with stripes.  Stripes with whites will always be a good idea.  Just be sure to choose accessories and whisper fall not summer.  I am loving this peplum striped top, so perfect for fall and winter and would be so cute pair with white skinnies and some cognac booties, or with red hunters when it gets rainy. (oh wait, it already is in Seattle.)

4. Try a white dress.  Don’t pack away your LWD just yet.  Pair it with a long trench coat and a pair of booties, or a denim jacket and a great scarf and it will last you well through the fall.

These pants look adorable on you! We are so similar in size, would you mind sharing what size you have in these? I noticed they are not returnable due to being a clearance item. I really like the way they elongate your legs! Thank you!
