paperbag waist culottes. bow blouse. sunglasses. shoes. bag sold out. (good option here and here.)
Does anyone else feels like high waisted pants (especially of the jeans variety) are hard for you to pull off? I really feel like that. I don’t know if it’s because I’m really short, or because I’ve had four kids, but almost every pair of high-waisted pants I’ve tried on look kind of random on me.
And by random, I mean not good.
But I kind of love the trend, especially when it’s done in the right way, so today, I’m sharing a fool proof option to the high-waisted trend.
The paperbag waist pant.
If there is one trend you should try this fall, let this one be it. The paperbag waist is so flattering, really forgiving, and (bonus) super comfortable.
I love a great culotte (we all know this) but add a paperbag waist and I’m a goner. I found these amazing olive paperbag waist culotte pants at Nordstrom the other day (for only $39) and couldn’t bring them home fast enough. Olive is one of my favorite fall colors to wear, and I love a pant like this that can be dressed up or down. Plus they couldn’t be any more comfortable.
For this outfit I paired the pants with this pretty bow blouse I picked up during the Nordstrom sale for a more polished look, and and I can’t wait to style them in a more casual way with a graphic tee, or some breton stripes, or a sweater when the weather turns a little colder. What I love about the paperbag waist trend is that it’s based on a classic silhouette, which means it always looks on-trend and it’s easy to style it a lot of different ways. Plus, I think it makes everyone’s waist look tiny, so bonus.
I love that I can find great pieces like this at Nordstrom whether online or in store. Shipping is always fast and free, and I love that I can easily have my pants tailored in store if necessary. I had these brought up just a touch, and now they are perfect. (If you’re not as short as me, they should fall perfectly at the cropped ankle length.)
