christmas outfit inspiration: mixing plaids.

Pants. Sweater. Similar scarf. bag. similar earrings. (also similar here.) similar shoes.

I don’t know if it’s all the house projects and work/family obligations, but I’ve let my stress get the better of me the last few weeks, and I haven’t really been in the “Christmas spirit.”   Last night we had family home evening (you can read about it here) and Craig played some beautiful Christmas videos for us.  It’s amazing what music can do for you.  It shifted my whole paradigm, reminded me what this season is all about and suddenly I’m in the Christmas spirit.

If you need a Christmas spirit boost too, the videos we watched are here and here.

One of my favorite things about this season is getting dressed up in a Christmas outfit for the holiday.  I usually go with a dress, but this year, I’ve been having fun with some dressy holiday alternatives, like this amazing pair of tweed pants paired with a bright red sweater.  I love mixing prints and plaids, so I threw on a tartan scarf and some fun earrings.  I think it’s a fun cozy alternative for a Christmas party or Christmas dinner, instead of your typical LBD or red dress.  Plus these wide leg pants are flattering and comfy.

Have you decided on your Christmas outfit yet?  What are you wearing?
