Happy Memorial Day everyone! This year, the holiday feels quite different than those of the past, with a lot less barbecues and traveling and just being with other people, but I’m still hopeful that it will be a fun summer, even if we don’t go many places. We are finishing up planting our garden today, and I am so happy to finally get all my plants in the ground. We’ve had some late frosts, so I’m very eager to see my starts growing to their full potential. We have a little lake only about 5 minutes from our house and the local beach there opened up again last week, so if we plant quickly this morning we’ll probably pop over there and swim this afternoon.
Memorial Day weekend is a great time to pick up summer pieces for the season because the sales are always really great. I always grab my kids any summer capsule pieces they might need, (it’s a lot this year since they are all pretty much growing like weeds), and I also pick up a few pieces for my summer capsule and some fun things for our house.
