dress. denim jacket. belt bag.
I’m always looking for great versatile pieces to share with you guys and I found a gem today. This fall t-shirt dress is a serious score at 24.99, especially since it’s super comfy, well-made, fits TTS (I’m wearing the XS) and is so easy to style lots of ways. I’ve got a real crush on it, especially the little puff sleeves. You know how much I love those little extra details, especially on my capsule pieces, and to be sure this dress is a rockstar piece for a fall capsule. You know when I claim an item is a great capsule piece I’ve got to back it up so here are 5 ways to style a fall t-shirt dress.
1. With a belt bag and mules.
dress. mules. similar belt bag. denim jacket.
You’ll see a pattern here, you guys know how much I love Madewell in general, but so many of my capsule shoes and accessories are from Madewell. I’ve been pulling these mules out over and over again over the past several weeks, especially as the weather has changed. They’re really such a great fall shoe. Now let’s talk belt bags. You know I love a belt bag and this one pairs so well with this dress, but if you’re not feeling the trend, you can swap it out for a simple belt. If you’re looking to add a layer, try throwing a denim jacket on with the dress. I love this one from Old Navy, and bonus it comes in petite!
2. With a utility jacket.
dress. jacket. shoes. similar belt.
You know how much I love a good utility jacket, and this fall t-shirt dress styles so nicely with it. I cinched it in with a brown belt to give me more shape and then paired it with these easy Target shoes, which are literally the only cheap shoes I’ve bought in the last 5 years that I haven’t regretted. They are a unicorn, comfy and classic and under $35. I still don’t get how they are this good.
3. With a button down and sweater blazer.
dress. Oxford shirt. sweater blazer. boots.
If there was one item in my closet that earns its keep it’s this sweater blazer. I wear it so much and it goes with everything. I thought it would be fun to give the look a crisp white pop so I added a white oxford shirt, and I love the added layer. My carina booties are still on sale and are my top worn capsule shoe for fall and winter.
4. With a flannel and long cardigan.

Another look where I had fun with layering! One of my favorite things about getting dressed in the fall is layering! Flannels are one of my go-to layering pieces, and tying the button down and then adding a long sweater creates visual interest with lengths. These lace-up boots just arrived from Madewell and I cannot wait to play around with more ways to style them. They are comfy right out of the box and lots of fun.
5. With sneakers and a sweater.
dress. sweater. Veja sneakers.
I always love it when I can style a piece a little more sporty, especially because sporty looks are easy and mom friendly. These veja sneakers are really earning their place and I love how they pair with the dress. I grabbed a quick pullover sweater to tie around the waist but it can easily be pulled over the dress for added warmth if needed. This cashmere sweater from Madewell is versatile and so soft.
I hope these 5 ways to style a fall t-shirt dress gave you some good ideas for mixing things up in your closet, ad if you are looking for a great fall t-shirt dress this is an awesome candidate. I highly recommend.
