dear meg,

How did you know?  How did you know to leave me that message right when I was in the middle of a full blown stress out; the kind that makes your face all sweaty, and causes palpitations, racing the clock with my sewing machine, trying to finish those blasted costumes in time.  And then I saw your missed call.  Saw that you’d left me a message, and I went to listen to it.  And when you told me you were hearing our song and just thinking of me, everything changed.  I thought about you, me, and Tarah driving around in my little red car in high school.  You were always my best friends.  You still are.

And I calmed down, finished the costumes, and had a lovely Halloween.

I believe in the call of blood.

That somehow over the hundreds of miles that separate us, my sisters always know.  They can read the unwritten feelings behind my writing, they can hear my mood in my tone of voice, they understand my soul when I don’t even speak.

I thank God for my sisters.

  7. I love you Cori. You have always been able to speak to my soul, to lift me up, to be the voice of reason, and always know when it was time to dial my number. I thank the Lord for you!
