of summer, and the lack thereof.

Skirt: by me.  Top: Loft.  Cardi, Shoes, Ring: Target.  Bag: Thrifted.

This outfit represents the 3rd time this week that I have worn yellow.
And it’s Thursday.
I think I’m subconsciously trying to counteract the weather.
Make no mistake.  While you all have been basking in the warmth of early June we’ve been under a near constant cover of clouds (the rain producing kind), and dancing at between 55-60 degrees.  Weather in the PNW is super yucky right now.  Tuesday, as I stood at the corner with the eldest 2 littles huddled under my umbrella in the pouring rain waiting for the bus to come (which always seems to show up 5 minutes late when it’s freezing cold and raining) I thought to myself,
“This wouldn’t be so bad, if it were February.”
But it’s June.
Anyways, the sun decided to make an appearance for a whopping 3 hours yesterday, so I took the boys to the park and tried to pretend I was warm.  It was just not cold for maybe 15 minutes, and then it passed and my legs were covered in goosebumps again.
It’s been so long since we lived anywhere that had normal seasons I’m starting to forget that there are places where such an idea actually exists.
Well, it’s pouring rain again this morning, and while I’ve stayed at home most of the week, fireplace ablaze drinking hot chocolate and nesting (I actually love this phase of pregnancy) to avoid the weather, today I will have to venture out.  Apparently my family doesn’t like to be without milk.  The audacity!  On the bright side, I also get to go shopping for my big sister’s birthday present and she’s one of my favorite people in the world to buy for.  Plus, it’s shopping, and let’s face it, shopping is fun.

Hope your Thursday is sunny, warm and filled with summer.

Now go get yourself a raspberry lemonade.

That cardi looks fab on u. I tried it on the other day but I felt the print was overwhelming on me & I’m 5’7. But it looks really nice on u. Maybe I should re-think it.

Comfy but still warm. Speaking of skirts…is that one of your skirts? I LOVE IT…by far the prettiest one yet in my opinion. Love it!!!!

  21. Girl, your weather is just like over here in England. I got spoiled while in the states for 2 months in sunny Florida and perfect spring weather in Ohio – now I’m back to 50’s-60’s and rain pretty much every day. Oh well, on the plus side it’s keeping my allergies at bay for this pregnant momma!
