polka dot.

This polka dot skirt is quickly becoming a major player in my maternity wardrobe.  Even though it’s not actually maternity.
Makes me so grateful that I happened (literally) upon it, while walking past (not even through) Forever 21.
Funny how you’ll spend weeks rabidly hunting through stores looking for some perfect thing to add to your wardrobe without any luck.  And then one day you go to the mall to buy some lipstick and find the perfect little polka dot skirt.
Serendipity.

Well, I’m off.  Miss Hannah’s birthday party is tomorrow, so I’ll be spending the day finishing up the last of the decorations, and baking up a whole bunch of delicious sugary treats to feed other people’s kids.

Mwahaha.

It should also be noted that I am on the hunt for the perfect pair of supportive flats for strolling NYC next week, cause these Steve Madden ones are completely insufficient in the support department.

If you know of a great pair, please share.  (We’re thinking sandals here.)

Now go have yourself a fabulous weekend.

Skirt:Forever21. Shirt: H&M. Belt: Downeast Basics. Flats: Steve Madden. Sunnies: Oscar dela Renta.

Feel like shopping too?

I’ve got a fabulous new skirt in the shop, and (shhh) a new one coming Monday as well…

The brad Sofft brand is great. I have heels, flats, and sandals from them. They are so well made and supportive.

just chiming in here! a few of my fellow nyc mamas were discussing this today over email (perfect timing) they suggested, worishofer, saltwater sandals (i have them in yellow!), birkenstock-they have patent leather ones!(http://www.birkenstockusa.com/products/women/sandals/kairo/lemon-yellow-patent-patent-birko-flor/24708), keens (http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/product/ss12/shoes/women/blvd/santiago%20u-gore), merrel, erin michael’s netty sandal-my friend swears by them – http://www.endless.com/Eric-Michael-Womens-Netty-Sandal/dp/B003B66QLC

it’s so hard to find shoes that aren’t completely destroyed after walking nyc, but those should stand up nicely (and keep you from doing any fashion faux pas!) have so much fun in nyc!

  5. I second the Birkinstocks! I don’t know what I did before my Gizah’s (I have titanium and silver, but I want more!)! They look cute, even on us short girls, and I really do get lots of compliments on them. Plus, you can totally excuse a pedicure since your toes will show! (I didn’t like Saltwaters because I have high arches and plantar fascitis, but they are cute!)

  11. I know the Sperry Anglefish shoes aren’t for everyone…but they have so much padding. I also fall a lot pregnant and these have amazing traction. Even in snow! I know you could make them work!

  14. These shoes saved my back during my last pregnancy. Within 20 minutes my chronic back pain was abating. And there are many more styles now. http://www.orthaheelusa.com/

  15. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant again. While I’m excited to expand our family, I’m even more excited for a fashionable pregnancy!! First time around, I lived in sweats and hoodies! While it was the most comfortable, I’m excited to be a bit more stylish this time around. Thanks for the outfit inspiration and making pregnancy look so chic!
