Neon stilettos remind me of my childhood. Since I was a child during the 80’s this makes sense. Neon and stilettos were kind of a big deal back then…which might be why I’m kinda obsessed with these shoes. They remind me of my old piano teacher. She was pretty and fabulous and always wore the most amazing stilettos to church.
Speaking of my childhood…
Ava and I are flying to California this morning for my cousin’s wedding and I am so excited to be back in my hometown again. My parents don’t live there anymore and so in the almost 10 years we’ve been married, I’ve only been back to my old stomping grounds twice. The last time was five years ago. I know I’ve lived all over the map since I left home 12 years ago (hello gypsy), but the truth is I’ll always be a California girl.
And I’m kinda proud of that.

I love the neon shoes, I remember my mother wore a lot of neon yellow when I was growing up, I really want a pair of the yellow shoes which would make her laugh and tell me, “see! I told you so!”

I know how you feel. I grew up in the 90’s, so I’m drawn to chunky glitter and sparkly things, among other things. I remember my mom always wearing shiny things to weddings and parties that required formal wear.
I admire your gypsyness. I’ve never left Miami, and I don’t see it happening anytime in the near (or distant) future.
