Okay, first of all.  How is it June already??  I mean the year is basically half over.  If Washington wasn’t so nuts my kids would be out of school (they’re not, they don’t get out for another 3 weeks, boo.) and I feel like they just started this school year.  I swear, the older I get, the faster time passes.  Is that just me?

June is usually a chilly month here in the Pacific Northwest (we call it June-uary) and in true Seattle fashion, today’s forecast is 65 and rainy despite the warm dry year we’ve had.  It’s like it just wants to remind us not to get too comfortable.  Although it’s supposed to be hot and sunny next weekend, so we good.

Summer is my favorite time of year for mixing prints.  Layers are my go-to when it comes to putting together a look but that’s not a fantastic option in the warmer months; print mixing serves as a great alternative for adding  interest to an ensemble without packing on the layers.  Gingham and stripes are all-time favorites –especially in the summer, and soft pink and navy is a pairing that pretty much had me at hello.  So when this shirt arrived in it’s pretty little package the other day, this was the first of many outfits to pop into my head.  No brainer, really.  Also, I feel like you should know, I have been looking for the perfect soft pink gingham shirt for years, (years I tell you!) so when I found this one, my little trigger finger couldn’t push buy fast enough.  When you wait for a very particular piece for your closet and it finally shows up, you don’t hesitate, because someone else might buy up your XXSPetite, and we all know they only make like three in that size, and I feel like I reserve the right to at least one of those three, because lets be real, #shortestpersonever.

Anyway, here I am rambling about pink gingham and you’re probably like, whatever Cori.  It’s Monday morning.  So here’s to a super fly week.

I can’t wait to show you what I have planned for June.

It’s gonna be a ball.

Yeah, pretty sure the heat came on today. I know what you mean about the pink gingham. Gap had one some time ago and it sold out in my size before I had the chance to buy it. The issue I have with this shirt is the off white background. It’s Spring, almost summer and “winter white” is still everywhere. Why? Plus it doesn’t flatter everyone (like me, for instance). But had the shirt been in the store when I was there during the 50% off sale, I would have snapped it up…

I think I remember that top at Gap, but their shirts never ever work for me. For some reason they are way too big/boxy for my frame. I love the fit of JCrew tops for me, especially in their petite sizes. Haha, I didn’t even think about that for winter white, but that is true! So much off white out there! I wonder why??

Seeing you put these two prints together makes me feel like I can. I’m short too, 5′, and I have always wondered if this would be too much print for my small frame. Thank you!!!!
