Trench: Loft. Top: Banana Republic. Jeans: Nordstrom. Shoes: Nordstrom. Bag: Kate Spade. (similar here and here.) Sunglasses: Kate Spade. (similar.) Necklace: J.Crew Factory. (similar.)

I’ve decided that this is pretty much going to be my spring uniform.  A trench with a pair of fun flats, and then easy denim (white or otherwise) and a top I love.  Someone asked me the other day, how I do heels as a mom.  And while I do wear them even when I’m with my kids (especially when I’m off to church) I love wearing a pair of pretty pointed flats as an alternative for everyday life.  I feel like they give you the same effect as a pair of heels but they are infinitely easier to walk, and chase my toddler in.

Speaking of shoes.  These leopard ones just arrived last week and I’ve worn them so many times already.  They are kind of rocking my world.  They stay so snug on my feet I love it, and they go with everything!  Seriously, every outfit I put on, I’m like, yup, my leopard flats would totally work with this.  I love it when that happens…

White jeans are kind of my nemesis (the curse of a short-legged girl) but these ones are amazing, they are so comfortable, don’t show every little thing and have just the right amount of distressing.  Plus the fit is tops, and the fabric quality makes me want to sing. (plus they’re under $70, I usually have to pay designer jeans prices for a fit and feel like this, so bonus!)  Ironically I kind of just stumbled upon them while shopping and it turned out to be quite a little stroke of serendipity, because I’d all but given up on white jeans for myself.

This week is my kids’ mid-winter break.  What even is that?  When I was in school we had Christmas break and Spring break.  And now my kids have fall break, winter break, mid-winter break, and spring break.  Yikes.  I don’t mind it all all, it’s fun for us all to be at home together, fun to let the kids sleep in.  During the fall we go apple picking and rake leaves and take walks and go on adventures.  During Christmas is even better, looking at lights, baking cookies, holidays.  This spring we’re taking a vacation.  But this week, it is so rainy!  We’re all getting a little bit of cabin fever.  I just want to take them all for a beach day and that is just not happening…  What do I do with these children! ;-)

Great outfit. I need those shoes. I love shoes with a little wedge. My mind isn’t on Spring, but I know it will soon be here.

That is a lot of breaks. I’m a smidge older than you and I recall those extra breaks coming in around my hs years. It was quite a thing.
