Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!

I love this day, because it’s just a fun holiday but there isn’t a lot of stress or expectation, perfect combination for a mother.  We always make a fun green dinner (usually green eggs and ham or something simple), one year I attempted corned beef and cabbage for the first time because I was feeling extra confident and I wanted to try something “authentically Irish…” Aaaaand that also became the last time I’ve ever tried it because, disaster.

I’m not sure if there’s some trick to it, but mine was a disgrace to the Irish, and I’ve never attempted it again.  Every time I casually bring up giving it another go, Craig gives me that “please, no anything but that” look and I let it drop.

One of my more epic fails in the kitchen.

I love to wear green, and I’ve been especially loving the army green trend right now.  I found this vest a few weeks ago and I was pleased as punch because it actually fit rather well, and usually I can’t find them done petite enough to work for me.  I’ve made a strict rule for myself, now that I’m in my 30’s to at least attempt to not look like I borrowed something from my big sister’s closet, so I was pretty happy when this piece worked out.

Anyway.

I usually stick to pairing this vest with basic neutrals (navy and white stripes, etc) but a couple weeks ago Merrick posted a look with army green and blush and it was basically a mind blown moment.  I had to try it, and I have to say I love the way the two colors pair together.  Very masculine/feminine.

Plus I love that it’s not over-the-top green, but I’m not going to get pinched either.

Here’s wishing you a lucky St. Patty’s day!

Love the pink and green together. The Irish don’t eat corned beef and cabbage, so that’s okay. It’s kind of just an American tradition. They do eat cabbage, though.
