easy spring layers.

Shirt. White Jeans. Similar Denim Jacket. Booties. Similar Bag. Sunglasses.

I cannot believe how fast the weeks are flying by in this year… I mean, there goes another one.  Sometimes I wish I had time to be bored.  Because here we are 3/4 of the way through March and I feel like the year just started.

But I won’t complain about March sneaking up on us because hallelujah spring.  I never think I’ll want the warmer weather, when fall comes around and I start adding layers in deep moody colors, and then by this time of year, all I want are breezy fabrics, stripes and pastels.  Every year it’s the same story.  The trick about spring is that the weather can be kind of finnicky.  Everyday, it can’t decide what it wants to be.  Is it warm?  Is it chilly?  Will it rain, be breezy?  The suns coming out, oh wait, now it’s gone…

It can make getting dressed a headache, because how to you plan around weather that can’t make up its mind?  My solution is always, lightweight layers.  A good medium weight striped shirt with a denim jacket will provide plenty of warmth should the need arise, but if it warms up you can easy tie the jacket around your waist and pull up the sleeves without overheating.  Peep toe booties add a nice springy touch, but are still a little more substantial than sandals.

I just added this striped shirt to my closet, and you can’t see it well, but I love the embroidery detail on it, and the subtle little nautical nod.
