Don’t you just love the Friday before a long weekend?  I mean, every single Sunday night I’m wishing I had just one more day of weekend to get rested, have fun, catch up on life, and this weekend we get it!  Are you doing anything fun?  If you’re planning to leave town, don’t forget to read my post on 8 tips for road-trips with kids.

We’re hanging around Seattle this weekend, doing fun local things.  One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is head over to Pioneer Square.  It’s such a gorgeous spot and I swear fall shows up there sooner than everywhere else in the city.  It’s seriously so dreamy with the cobblestone and the hanging flowers.  And there are a few pretty places to grab a little brunch on a Saturday morning, or lunch a little later in the day. (I recommend London Plane.)

I’m kind of always looking for the perfect shirtdress because, well do I even need to explain why?  Every woman loves a good shirtdress.  My favorite style shirtdress is by far a-line.  I can’t really pull off the other kind (you know, the ones that look like a large button up shirt).  They look so cute on some of my friends, and I wished they worked for me, but I’ve tried and they just make me look super short.  No bueno.  The good news is, if you are on the taller longer side, that’s a great option for you.  And if you aren’t, an aline shirt dress is universally flattering.  Everyone looks good in a dress like this.

This dress sold out in most sizes super fast, :-( but I found a very similar one and then I rounded up a bunch of pretty a-line shirt dresses below.  (There’s a bunch from kate spade on sale right now!)
