My sister got into town early, early this morning. She drove out on a whim with my niece and two nephews last minute for a little fall break. I’m so glad they came. Wet weather aside, fall is a beautiful time of year in Seattle. Everything is golden and green with little touches of red. It takes my breath away every single year. It’s going to be a blustery rest of the week but we’re still going to be exploring and whenever I have plans like that this time of year, I always reach for my go-to fall accessories. Namely this amazing Tory Burch tote and a cozy plaid scarf.
When you live in a colder climate, you learn that fall and winter are all about the accessories. A great handbag and a classic scarf can complete an outfit otherwise hidden under a heavy coat. I subscribe to the idea that it’s better to have one great quality handbag that goes with everything, than a bunch of cheap ones that fall short. (Which is why you see this handbag popping up so much on here.)
I always buy my handbags at Nordstrom because they carry the brands I love most (Kate Spade NY, Tory Burch, and Rebecca Minkoff) and they always have the best selection online. I love that I can order a new bag and have it at my door for free a few days later. (Hello free shipping!)
I’ve been carrying this cognac TB tote since summer, but it wasn’t until this fall that I realized exactly how perfectly versatile it is. I love the rich color so much, and I love that the bag is plenty big enough to fit all my mom gear and an umbrella as well. (Although, nobody really uses umbrellas in Seattle for some unknown reason.) If you buy one bag this season, this should be it.
Plaid scarves are my other secret weapon this time of year, it’s just so easy to throw it over a sweater or a coat and voila! The outfit is complete. In the past I’ve mostly leaned towards plaid blanket scarves, but I am loving this infinity version right now (especially since I snagged it for $25) Nordstrom is carrying a few plaid infinity scarves this season and they are a refreshing change and a little less fussy to wear.
So what are your fall secret weapon accessories?
