fitting room friday.

Hey guys!  Happy Friday!  I’ve got a fun little fitting room Friday for you!  I went shopping with my little Ava yesterday (thank you to the nice lady at Nordstrom for the biggest dressing room ever- we made good use of it) I found a bunch of cute stuff perfect for summer!  (And perfect for mamas looking for cute, casual pieces to wear while you chase your kiddos for the next few months.)  I’ll include all the fit details and what I love about each piece in the description.  As always, if you have any questions, be sure to ask in the comments and I’ll get back to you asap. ;-)

Okay, I’m starting with this peplum beauty because it’s one of my favorites!  It comes in 3 gorgeous colors (the white one is pretty sheer though) and the pink and blue are my favorites.  I think I’m going to order it in both colors.  It’s open in the back, so for me, I’d have to wear it with a cami or undershirt, but I love the bows down the back.  The fit is really good.  They didn’t have an XS in store so I tried on the small, and even that I felt like I could make work if necessary.  Love the short sleeves that go to the elbow, and it’s a really soft flowy fabric. See pictures of the back and the blue one below.

I love this striped top with the ruffle sleeves so much.  The fabric is thick but not too thick and it’s got a nice structure.  Perfect for summer.  I’m wearing an XSP.

I’m really loving all the pretty soft pink tops I’m seeing everywhere and this one.  Dying.  Love the fit on this one, nice and casual, perfect with a pair of skinnies and some flipflops.  It comes in regular and petites.  I’m wearing XSP.

If you need a lightweight tee, this pocket one comes in a bunch of colors, and they’re so soft.  This is a small I’m wearing, but I need an XS.

Really wanted to like this one, because it’s so cute and the terry cloth fabric is to-die for.  But this was too big and looked funny on my petite frame.  I tried on a regular XS. Maybe if I tried it in XXSP… (comes in petites and regular.)

Okay, this eyelet top guys.  You would not believe how cute it is.  I need a navy undershirt, obvs.  But I love the structure and the bell sleeves.  I tried on an XS.  And it’s on sale for 40% off right now.

Speaking of eyelet tops.  I’m loving this black one.  And I love the fit.  It’s a little pricier than the other tops, so I might wait till it goes on sale.  Although that’s always a risk. I tried on an XS, but I’d like to try it in an XSP cause it was a little big on me.

Everyone needs a good white peplum tee for summer.  This one is nice and lightweight, and I love where it hits. And it comes in regular and petites!  I’m wearing XSP.  Comes in a bunch of colors and stripes too.  So cute.

These jeans are amazing.  They are well under $100, the fabric is amazing.  Thick but comfortable, structured, but stretchy.  And the length!  Works perfect if you are super petite like me! I’m wearing a 0P.

This skirt is sooooo cute!  If you are looking for something knee length and you’re taller than me it probably won’t work for you though, but I am wearing a size 0 regular length.  I would have preferred a 00 but they didn’t have any in stock.  It’s more red than it looks in this picture, right here it looks kind of orange.

Also, everything is 40% off at Loft right now.  I also got these shorts and they are great if you are like me and need to wear longer pairs but you don’t like the way they look on you.  These are actually really flattering.

Also, wanted to let you know that Shopbop’s sale is on sale right now.  Up to 70% off (use code: SCORE17) .  These sales can get really overwhelming for me, because there are literally thousands of pieces on sale.  My trick for avoiding overwhelm is to go to the sale page, and then filter the brand I love to shop, so I’ll check Endless Rose, English Factory, Madewell, J.O.A., Kate Spade and Moon River, then it’s easier for me to find great sale pieces from brands I already know I love, rather than pouring through thousands of items.  (I do this with my favorite jean brands too- AG, Rag and Bone, etc.) I wrote a whole post on my favorite brands to shop at Shopbop, and why, you can see it right here.

  1. I’ve been eyeing that eyelit top with the longer sleeves, it’s a darling piece! So very helpful to see it modeled. I still haven’t figured out if I’m going to jump in on the open back tops trend I keep seeing, they are sort of cute, but I’m not exactly going to run around showing off my bra straps because the back is open. And those jeans, what a great wash on them. Where are they hitting you on the leg, at the ankle bone or above? At 5’3″ I’m trying to figure out whether to get the petite length or the regular length. Thanks!

I was the same way about the open back tops, because I don’t show my back for religious reasons, but these are so cute even with an undershirt and I love it!

oh and about the jeans, they fit just below the ankle (which is rare for me, usually even petite lengths are too long) and I’m 4’11” if that helps.

I love all the cute tops you found!. I just got back from Loft and bought my third pair of the Bermuda roll shorts. My kids said I have a problem but I also only wear knee length shorts and I’m only 5’2″ and these shorts are the most flattering shorts I have ever owned. Also, I live in AZ and the forecast is saying 121 degrees next week, so I’m prepared. Love your blog!
