the life-changing hair tool that will blow your mind: a review of the Revlon One-Step Dryer and Volumizer.

top. jeans. necklace. Revlon Dryer.

My favorite thing about getting my hair done is the blow-out at the end.  I walk out of the salon feeling like Cindy Crawford circ. 1995.  But when I try to recreate that smooth bouncy volume the next day, forget about it.  I end up in some kind of tangled mess of my hair, the blowdryer and the round brush, very seriously wishing I had a third arm.  I have never finished a round-brushing blow dry with a satisfied feeling.  Either it didn’t quite work, or it took forever (I have a lot of hair), or my arms feel like I just did 200 shoulder presses.  Which, in a nutshell, is why I never round-brush my hair dry, even though I know my hair will most likely look better if I do.  Who has time for that trouble?  And if it’s the choice between, well just about anything, and spending an EXTRA 30 minutes blow drying my hair (because that is how much longer it takes me to round brush my hair dry) the other thing always wins.

Until now!

Earlier this month, my friend Lynzy (from Lynzy and Co.) shared an amazing new hair tool discovery on her instastories, a blowdryer/roundbrush in one concoction, that promised smooth bouncy hair in a fraction of the time.  I was intrigued.  I had to try this magical new hair tool, and see if it was worth all the buzz it was getting. (And it’s getting a lot of buzz guys).  I ordered one immediately.

Today I’m going to review the Revlon One-Step Dryer and Volumizer, aka the hair tool that will blow your mind.

Before I get into my review, let me just quickly explain what the heck this thing is.  It is basically a hair dryer and round brush in one.  You basically dry your hair while simultaneously round brushing it.  AMAZING, I know!

I’m sure you can tell from the title of this post, and my expression in the picture above that I am a HUGE fan of this dryer.  Like I want to write a sonnet about it.  I want to  propose marriage and promise to love it forever.  Yes, this dryer is that good.  How do I love it, let me count all the ways for you…

First.  It completely solves that whole, I need a 3rd arm problem.  Because it’s a dryer and round brush in one, your other hand is completely free to work with your hair.

Second: it actually does what you hope it will do.  My hair is smoother and bouncier than it has ever been and this beautiful tool has basically eliminated my need for a straightener.  I always have to straighten my hair after blow drying, because it’s usually still so frizzy.

Third.  It’s lightweight!  It is shockingly lightweight, like even now, after 3 weeks using it, I cannot believe how lightweight it is.  My arm is not at all tired at the end of the blow dry.

Forth.  It saves me time.  It has cut my blow-dry time down by like 10-15 minutes.  (fyi, you’ll want to section your hair to round-brush it dry, just like you would with a regular dryer/roundbrush situation.). And it has cut my getting ready time down by another 10 because I no longer have to use my straightener.

Fifth.  I doesn’t tangle up in your hair at all.  I was really worried that this might be a problem, and I don’t know how they accomplished it, but this thing doesn’t tangle up in your hair at all.  (and I am like a hot, tangled mess anytime I’ve tried to round-brush my hair dry in the past.)

Sixth: It is the perfect tool for non-washing days, because it gives your roots a boost, distributes the dry shampoo perfectly, and just gives your hair a perfect little refresh.

Seventh: It’s a great value.  It is a fraction of the cost of any decent name brand drier.  Let’s just say, I paid a lot more for my T3 and it doesn’t do have the job that this one does.  Regular price is around $60, but it keeps going on sale for $43!

Eighth: It is awesome for drying my girls hair too!  This was an added bonus I wasn’t anticipating.  It’s made getting Ava ready in the morning a lot easier as well.  We just round brush her dry every morning after her shower and she bounces off to kindergarten looking like a hair model.

Ninth: It’s ergonomically correct.  It’s actually designed to be held by a girl fixing her hair.  I was worried with the size of the barrel that it would be hard to hold/ roll the hair through, but NOPE!   It’s like it was actually designed by someone who does their hair everyday, the handle is super easy to hold/maneuver.

Tenth: Why are you still reading this?  Go get one! xo ;-)

I just got mine and have used it once. Mine on high is crazy loud! Like hurt your ears high pitched loud. Is yours like that? Mine also gets crazy hot like I ran a straightener through my hair.

I love the dryer too!!! It’s amazing. My only gripe with it is that it’s very loud. But It’s too good not to use it because of how loud it is :)

So, after hearing all the hype about this, I bought one…And I have to say it’s a big miss for me and I’ll explain why…I have an AMAZINGLY strong, hot hairdryer that seriously blows so hard and so hot. This Revlon dryer didn’t touch the amount of blow and the amount of heat my BaByliss hairdryer puts out. So, I found that it took me more time to dry my hair than my traditional dryer and created more frizz. So, for someone who is very comfortable using a round brush, I’d say pass on this. Just my thoughts! This is the latest version of the hairdryer I have and I LOVE it: https://www.amazon.com/BaBylissPRO-BABNT5548-Nano-Titanium-Dryer/dp/B001T0HHDS/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1548380611&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=BaByliss+Pro+BABNT6160N+Nano+Titanium+Torino+Dryer

I’m definitely intrigued by this hair dryer and I’m going to order one for myself and try it out. I’ve heard at least 3 other times this past week mention of this hair dryer, so I take that as a sign that I need to purchase one. :)
